NCR Fires Up Robert Dollar #3

Niles Canyon Railway is pleased to announce the test operation of Robert Dollar Lumber Co. 2-6-2T steam locomotive #3, which marks the first time the engine has run since 1959.  The short test runs in the yard were a sigh of relief for those of us that have been working on the engine for 8 years.  The engine ran fine but there are plenty of things we need to work on before it enters regular service.

The first public outing for the locomotive will be our upcoming March steam festival where we will have 3 engines in service, the Quincy #2, Robert Dollar #3 and the California State Railroad Museum's Granite Rock #10.
