Anyone know why the Frisco Railroad Museum would sell such an outstandingly restored car AND include what must be part of their collection? It seems that this caboose and it's contents definately belong as part of a Frisco railroad museum.

In the early 1970's the car was donated to the Springfield, MO YMCA camp where it was discovered by the FRISCO Railroad Museum and in February of 1993 the YMCA donated the car to the FRISCO Railroad Museum who then restored the car to it's original condition. Currently the car is located in Springfield, MO. This is one of the finest restoration jobs we have ever seen on a caboose. Included in the price of the car is all the FRISCO memorabilia displayed in the car right down to the pot belly coal stove and the track, ties and ballast. PRICE $25,000

The Frisco Railroad Museum is defunct. Their collection was sold to businessman Louis Griesemer. He declined to keep the dining car "Oklahoma City" and the two cabooses displayed outside the museum, and they were apparently sold to Ozark Mountan Railcars. The proceeds from the sale of the two cabooses will be used to help finance the restoration of the "Oklahoma City".
