some info on the C&TS's new DL535E #114 Purchased from WP&Y.

I'm putting these (missing links) here until I can recover all these articles from railroadforums and railroad.net:

There is a discussion about these specific DOFASCO (5650) Export trucks used on the #111-114 DL535E's posted on "railroad forums" at; http://www.railroadforums.com/forum/sho ... hp?t=18412

There is a discussion about the WP&Y accident at; http://www.railroadforums.com/forum/sho ... hp?t=16501

There is a discussion about the locomotive at; http://www.railroadforums.com/forum/sho ... hp?t=18170

There is also a discussion about the difference between the 3-cylinder truck brakes and the 2-cylinder truck brakes used on these DOFASCO 5650 trucks from the #114. Join in at; http://www.railroadforums.com/forum/sho ... hp?t=18412

"White Pass & Yukon DL-535E #114 - WRECKED!" was posted at Railroad.net

The 4 DL535E's #111-114 were the last locomotives built by BBD (the former MLW)...

The second batch of the original 1969 WP&Y DL535's (#101 series) were on the construction floor at Alco (in 1971) when the builder closed it's doors. Those units were shipped to MLE for completion and delivery. So the two orders wound up being the final locomotives built at both factories. The first units were delivered in May of 1969 from ALCO and an additional three units were delivered on December 10, 1971 from MLW

I have all this stuff backed up on an older PC, so its all here, but I'm way too busy saving the world to get it all out and organize it right now. I can play with trains later.

Good info thanks for posting.
Don't forget that #111 is at Plaster city California. I have a picture of it from this Spring and if I can figure out "how to" will post it. It looks to be very well kept.

Unless they've recently retired and scrapped it, the #112 is there, too.
