Trolley Restoration Project update: The Jersey Shore Historical Society Board has voted to cancel the trolley restoration project.
It has come to the board’s attention that some necessary and expensive repairs are needed on the Samuel Moss House. The repairs include masonry and roofing work.
Since this is the case, the Board felt the need to redirect the funds to the upkeep of the museum building and its artifacts.
This was not an easy decision to make, but the priority and mission of The Jersey Shore Historical Society is to maintain the museum so that the history of Jersey Shore may be kept alive.
Our goal is to complete the needed repair work so that the museum can be reopened to the public in 2024.
If you know of anyone or group who would be interested in restoring the trolley, please message this page.
River Valley Transit Authority is requesting the trolley be moved by August 2024.

Supposedly Rockhill Trolley Museum has passed on this car body sans trucks; no response heard/reported from Electric City Trolley Museum or Pa. Trolley Museum......

It looks grim, but it might be a source of hundreds of useful parts.

First, this Jersey Shore is on PRR and NYC 16 miles West of Williamsport in Central Pa. However, the car is ex-PRT from Philadelphia.

ECTM has Wilmington Del. single trucker 120 which is complete and in running condition (hand brakes only; it never had air or regenerative). 120 went to Philadelphia where it spent decades as the Broad St. Subway rail grinder W-58. You could see it behind Pres. Biden during his visit to Scranton.
