Fernwood, Columbia and Gulf railbus M-4 heads for the barn at the end of the operating day at the Southern Forest Heritage Museum, Long Leaf, LA, 11-18-2023.

The museum has recently completed a complete interior renovation of the car, new wiring, new seat mountings, windows, and complete interior. The car has not looked this good on the inside for more than 40 years.

Nice work, Ev. I'd surely like to get back there to visit again.

FWIW, this operation is one of our countries little-known gems and well worth any
time invested to get to.

What Tom said...

FWIW: The time invested in clearing the weeds from this place is exponentially greater than the time it would take to go there from just about anywhere else on planet earth (unless they have a huge herd of goats keeping the grounds nice). Well worth a visit.

Well, Sammy, you know how everything grows in Louisiana. However, the idea of goats might be a good one! The volunteers have done a huge job in clearing vegetation over the last several years, and we are slowly getting ahead.
