I can superimpose the Erie yellow over the Rainbo Bread truck in 5925 Cream with some success but I could probably do the same with the lighter Reading yellow as well. They're pretty much in the same general neighborhood color-wise so that's where we're at there for right now. LOL

I had a little time this afternoon so I tried a double chip match with Ford Vermillion Red. The first runner-up on the darker side of Venetian Yellow was CNW's Diamond Yellow while the Brockway yellow, 93-6808, finished third. The closest this time around was 93-5607 Sunshine Biscuit Yellow and after what I went through with the Rio Grande... LOL

I'm just playing around this morning. LOL The older International Yellow fits in around 93-1226 so I thought I'd try something with that next. Also, you can see what happens when I desaturate the medium yellows. Now, they all look more like a yellow oxide...

This guy here says "light imitation gold" so now we're back to that again... LOL

The color does seem to behave similarly to the pale ochre on UPS trucks and it will flash that brighter yellow seen in some old Erie photos if the sun hits it just right...

Mayflower used Diamond Yellow so this picture eliminates that color. The handrails are most likely 5248 or 54701 which puts them out of the running also...

This time, 93-242 Kraft Yellow finished second but the winner once again is 93-5607...

The fan deck appears to be dated around 1971 or 1972, by the way.

Here's the snout of an Erie F along with an old Sunshine Biscuit store display rack out in the sun...

I never did post this photo of an old Mayflower van although I've had it on my hard drive for quite awhile now. LOL Besides 93-1226 Diamond Yellow, the other colors are 93-1317 New Idea Green, 93-1863 Swift Red, and 93-005 Black...

It might be a good thing I didn't officially call Kraft Yellow for the lighter Reading yellow as of yet because this morning it looks like it could very well be 93-5925 Cream... LOL

I'll have to keep working on this but if 93-5925 is indeed the lighter Reading yellow, that would open up a spot for 93-242 on the Jersey Central...

Here's Lehigh Valley #216 along with a couple Reading GP-35's at Allentown. Now this particular yellow does have a very good chance of being 93-6808...

That would then help identify the Valley's version of Tuscan Red as Chevrolet Cape Maroon, 93-64539-M. The handrails are Omaha Orange.

GM code WE5858 from the fan deck is the best match with the 1954 DuPont chip...

http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/paintdetail ... ode=WE5858

It's also listed as Dupont code 7264, Purple Maroon...

http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/paintdetail.cgi?dupont=7264

Here it is as Ditzler/PPG 50113...

https://paintref.com/cgi-bin/paintdetail.cgi?ppg=50113

I'll post more codes if I keep finding them... LOL

I've done a couple of these using Chevy Cape Maroon as the late Pennsy Tuscan Red and keep coming up with the 5925 Cream as the yellow used in that scheme as well. I'll have to keep looking at this one but the PRR and Reading using the same yellow? That's just failing to register at the moment but hey, you never know... LOL

One of the good things about this chip matching technique is that you don't need the greatest pictures of all time to make it work. Here's that Last Beth Star pic again. 5925 Cream is the best match for the yellow on the gondolas and caboose...

I quick did my desktop pic because it was right there. LOL Using 5248 Yellow as the standard, 5925 Cream is the closest here also...
