Thanks for asking. The short answer is no. The longer answer is that the "secret sauce" that made the 1975-76 AFT a " must see" when it was in your hometown was the 512 ORIGINAL artefacts loaned to us by 285 museums across the nation that helped tell the 200 year American story in the 10 display cars.

A huge part of us being able to borrow those treasures was President Nixon in Jan. 1974 instructed the National Archives, Library of Congress and the Smithsonian to " give the Freedom Train whatever artefacts they want" and the strength of that opened the doors to the rest of the American museum community.

Once we had commitments for those artefacts we were able to get our 5 ( Pepsi, GM, Kraft Foods, Prudential and Atlantic Richfield energy) co-sponsors whose sponsorship fees funded the building of the train.

I tried hard to gain access to President Trump to get his support and failed.

The good news is I have just recently gained access to the White House and am now working my way up the chain of command towards getting an appointment to give President Biden a proper AFT 2.0 briefing.

I am currently 7 rungs under POTUS so still have a lot of mountain to climb and we are running out of time.

I am absolutely confident that I can make the sale as the project stands for everything President Biden supports. The challenge is getting in front of him.

It it's meant to be I'll get there and in time.

Wish me luck. Thanks, Ross Rowland, Founder & Chairman

And let's hope nobody at the White House has access to Google.

The general mailbox for the WW&F Railway Museum received this invitation today. I find it encouraging that a 14 y/o has an interest in the AFT.

Maybe hope does spring eternal?

Dear Volunteers of Wiscasset, Waterville, Farmington Railroad,

As a mother of a train enthusiast reaching out to other train and history enthusiasts, I am writing to invite you to a live presentation about the American Freedom Train in Ellsworth, ME in June 27 at 6 pm at Constitutional Hall—225 High Street Suite 2 (Maine Coast Mall).

There is also a live stream event of it on Jack’s Train Talk. Jack is a 14 year old who is interested in getting the American Freedom Train running again. Please join us either live or online for the video presentation and the discussion afterwards.

Kathy Dunn
