PTM has placed in service a LeBlond 36 x 132 lathe which was donated. A video of the reprofiling of an Red Arrow wheelset is here: [url] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMX3BoGxm6U
This involved the design and fabrication of a SUPERDOG to drive the axle since the lathe chuck would have to grab the journal surfaces, not a good idea. We are in the process of setting up a real machining area in our Reliance Building. The bay where the machines are located has two pendant controlled 10-ton cranes. We have quite a range of machines. The Queen machine is a fully operational #5 Giddings & Lewis 350-T horizontal boring mill with a power drawbar, 60" x 120" table,3 axis digital readouts, and tons of tooling including rotary tables, index table, three sizes of pairs of angle plates, etc.

We also have one small simple vertical CNC machine, 3-axis, no tool changer.

Also in operation is a Cincinnati shear 10' x 3/16" (mild steel) which has received quite a bit of use. We currently have seven machines operable with seven wore to get operating.
Outside machine work is getting harder to find with many small shops closing up.
