My two cents in consideration that RYPN is a brand:
Transfer ownership of RYPN - the domain name (as it is part of the brand) and all content.

I've been trying to do that for years. I've never gotten a response.

I'm sure some help would be handy, but I already have those skills.

The downsides are the recurring costs of hosting, domain registration and the collection of "donations" to pay for it (it's really not overly expensive). I'd pitch in on the tech side where possible.

I wouldn't be asking for donations. I already lease a dedicated server:

Adding this one would be quite simple.

At the minimum, if there's an ownership change and a move to something like Bob's site, keep the RYPN domain name and have it redirect to a subdomain there.

If the current owner agrees, I'll move the name and the content. But I need cooperation from the owner.

Well...

After a month or two of normal logins, I am now having to login multiple times before reaching the Index page. And the "keep me logged in" feature is not working.

It rarely works for me the first time or two but I've found that attempting 4, 5, 6, or sometimes more times using the "Log me on automatically each visit" check box will generally get me there.

I stumbled across something interesting just now. I have two monitors. While looking at a post that I've written a response to on the first monitor, I can open the site on the second one and log in which also logs me on for the post on the first monitor. It still may take several attempts to log in, but it looks like I don't lose the post I was working on while trying to log in by logging in on a second monitor.

Alright, after several weeks trying to log on, I finally succeeded. Whatever is going on is still going on. I would log in, it would say it was successful, then even I went back to the index it would log me back out. Within the last week, I would enter my password and username, and it would just do nothing, not even try to log me in.

I seem have tricked it now by checking that box says log me in each visit, and that seems to have allowed me to log in and post.

This works for me most of the time:

1. Enter your user name
2. Enter your password
3. Check Keep me logged in....
4. Wait about 5 or 6 seconds
5. Click Login

Repeat if not successful. Just. Don't. Rush. It. Sometimes I'm in on first try, usually with four tries. This works for me on Safari on iOS and Edge, Firefox, Opera and Chrome on Win 11. Please note, however, that browser or OS likely has nothing to do with it. The problems are on the server side.

Looks like bots are slowing RyPN down again.

Add me to the scrap pile of log in and log out issues.

logging in here takes too many incantations, blood sacrifices, waiting for moon and star alignments and then hoping some random guy in Ohio sneezes in a northwesterly direction at the same time I hit LOGIN

Attempted to post something on the Mountsorrel lift bridge thread last weekend as I was at the official launch but this is the first time I've been able to log in since then!

If we coordinate on the timing of your login, I'll sneeze at the appropriate moment in the proper direction. It may take a few tries to get the exact northwesterly coordinates nailed down, though. But once that happens, you should be good to go.
