Greetings,

I am aware some folks are experiencing issues when logging in. The common issue seems to be that when you login and then navigate to another thread or your PMs, you find yourself logged out. I am having these issues as well. I hope we can resolve it soon but at the moment it is out of my hands.

After two days of fighting that issue, including saving text to drop in later if I ever did make it in, it's cleared up for me, and I'm back to normal. This would suggest that it's possibly something to do with individual user interface and "cookies" or whatever than the fundamental foundation.

I'm painfully close to calling in a computer expert friend of mine to "hack" the site and upgrade it behind Collinson's back................ (I know the last time I had him look at the site, he was incredulous and flabbergasted at its relative antiquity--and that was years ago.........)

Hi
I just tried to reply back to this post,, every time I hit the reply button, it is kicking back to the log in page,,,, I had to log in two to three times before I was accepted to log in and reply to this post... ????
I am asking the moderators who watch all the posts on railway preservation,, can any upgrades be done,, to fix the problem..
Sometimes even when posting,, you get kicked back to the Log in Page,,, thank you, Pat.

Try again today.

I was stymied completely for nearly two days, then had a flawless day yesterday.

Today, same problem you just reported.

So far so good for me today - even opening multiple tabs to look at multiple RYPN threads.

I've tried every day for the last five or six days to announce a new status report for Alaska RR 557. When I try to post a reply to the existing thread I get logged out. I think the only difference between responding to this post and the ARR 557 post is I search to get to the most recent post on that thread.

It seems pretty random. I can only log in when I check the block to automatically log in each time.

I just spent almost 10 minutes getting to the point I could post this. Even though I ask the site to keep me continuously logged in it does not. When I just tried to post a reply it kept deleting my login attempts several times until I went away for a few minutes and came back to it. If this does appear, I expect it's because I caught the site at a "good" time. One of these days it's just not going to work anymore if we don't do something about it.

I've had to log back in four times in the last fifteen minutes.

There's some whackadoodle stuff going on with the site. (Old IT tech guy here)

What I'm seeing repeatedly is the 'register' checkbox on at login, and I can't get rid of it. It's not cache based because I can change machines and it is still there.

Sometimes I can get past it and sometimes I can't, sometimes it errors me out on the register error message (can't allow a new register) and sometimes it ignores it.

This is the first post I've managed in several attempts.

What browser is everyone using?

I use Firefox, and had the same problem the others was having.

I have another forum I peruse and if I want to log in I must switch to Chrome for it to work at all while logged in. Viewing in Firefox is just fine though.

I also use Firefox. I don't think browser matters much. To make this post I was only forced to re-login once (I always check the "Keep me logged-in box", but it is always ignored now), The site is moving slowly this morning, not as slowly as some days. I say again, something needs to be done or we are going to find it totally gone some morning.

Tom, I'm not sure who the current admin is. Can you please let me know who that would be?

I'd like to talk to them about hosting the site and converting it to Xenforo. It would solve a lot of these issues!

Here's a sample of what I can do. 5,000+ users online (granted lots of search engines and bots in that count.)

Runs super fast and has lots of great features. Also much better at images.

Let's talk.
