Regional Rail:
Trenton : Cornwells Heights Park and Ride shuttle service is not operating today due to an operator shortage.

Media/Elwyn : Outbound train #9345 will originate from Suburban Station. Passengers needing connection should board train #449.

Paoli/Thorndale : Service is suspended between Malvern and Thorndale until further notice. Alternative service options are online. Outbound train #9551 will originate from Suburban Station. Passengers needing connection should board train #9755.

Cynwyd : Service is suspended, however, limited weekday service will be restored on Tuesday, September 7 operating with new schedules that are effective on Sunday, September 5.

Lansdale/Doylestown : Service remains suspended between Link Belt and Doylestown Stations until further notice. Alternative service options are online.

Warminster : Service remains suspended between Willow Grove and Warminster Stations for the remainder of the service day. Alternative service options are online.

Manayunk/Norristown : Service remains suspended until further notice due to severe flooding from the nearby Schuylkill River. Alternative service options are online.

Norristown High Speed Line:
Norristown High Speed Line : Service is suspended from Norristown Transportation Center to Gulph Mills Station due to weather-related conditions. Seek alternate means.

NJ TRANSIT rail service, except the ACLR and Morris & Essex Line remain suspended due to storm impacts. HBLR modified wknd service. Nwk Light Rail service has resumed full operation and is on or close to schedule in both directions.Check alerts. Buses and River LINE are operating,expect delays, cancellations & detours due to major flooding from storm impacts. System-wide cross-honoring is in effect with NJT and private carrier bus and light rail.

When did all of this happen? We got nothing in the realm of heavy rain over the past few days here in NE Ohio.

A system to our north kept the rain from getting to us. We had no rain. I figure we dodged a bullet as Sugar Creek is prone to flood.

After an initial inspection, it has been discovered that the excessive rains from the remnants of Hurricane Ida have caused extensive damage to our railroad line.

Under the current circumstances, we have unfortunately had to make the difficult decision to annul all passenger operations over the Labor Day weekend, Friday September 3rd to Monday September 6th. Any customers that have already purchased tickets for these days will be contacted by our Customer Service Center.

The SEPTA Warminster branch was still draining this afternoon, SEPTA is checking structure of two bridges. Service ends at Willow Grove, two stations from Warminister. Tree service and utility trucks are everywhere working on damage. My street had over three feet of rushing water, extensive damage to some homes.
In my neighborhood two mature trees just fell over today from wet ground!

It was a hurricane; Hurricane Ida. After hitting New Orleans it followed an inland route via Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia. Almost the route of SR-N&W 41-42 The Pelican.

In the NEC it ran into a cold front which added energy and spawned tornadoes in MD, PA and NJ.

Wilmington & Western Facebook report:

Up to nine inches of rain north and west of Philly. West central Jersey got into the elevens. Still waiting for official totals. Not nearly as bad as Agnes in central PA in June of 1972.

Colebrookdale reported in - 'so far so good'....
