Boy talk about topic drift....

The belt line turntable is indeed still in Elkins however it has been sold to a Virginia based organization which has posters here so I'll let them tell about it. It's move from WV should be coming about in a month or two.

The Marrionville (sp?) table was moved in August of 2014 or 2013 I can't keep the years straight any more. When we removed it, the track was still only about 5 miles north of Marrienville(sp?) but the crew was actively pulling rail.

As to where it goes... No body knows, but the long tape measure has been pulled out in Cass a few times. Only time will tell.

There was still a Gulf tank car sitting in the dirt at the site, we snagged that one too. It's currently in Durbin awaiting work.

If someone could let me know where this turntable is going I would appreciate having that info to add to the database I've been keeping on them. Any news about turntables in the hands of museums or tourist lines is welcome. Those still in railroad use are outside my interest as this would be entirely too much to keep up on.

Does anyone know if the Elkins turntable has departed and where it's going? I was hoping those involved in the Virginia operation might join in and post more information.

Does anyone know if the turntable stored at Elkins, WV has departed and, if so, where it is headed?
