Shame I have to work Friday. Is there any possibility of a steam mixed with 90 on the 31st if NS doesn't deliver the cars tomorrow?

Thank you, Steve W. A right solid railroad track structure, one end to the other.

alzubal - You don't have to join Facebook just to view public groups such as the one I posted above. Just bookmark the link and your browser and check in once in a while. Now, if you want to reply or post something, that will require you to get a Facebook signon and may require you to be an official member and be approved by the administrator of that group.

With only 49,000lbs of tractive effort, #90 is not exactly a stout locomotive for hauling freight. Has Strasburg ever considered acquiring a larger engine, or is the frequency of these freight moves just not enough to justify such an engine? Sure would be a sight to see something like PRR 2-10-0 4483 move some tonnage with her 90,000lbs of tractive effort...no double heading required!

I'd venture a guess that unless something radically changes, and some major industry were to crop up along the line, requiring a lot more freight cars on a more frequent basis, there's not really a need for a larger engine at this time. 90 is plenty enough to pull 9-10 passenger cars (or more) along the line, which is her primary duty.
