The boiler weighed out at 41 tons, the frame and drivers at 61 tons, and the tender at 31 tons. This was after some significant steel had been removed for earlier transport.

Farmer,
I'm working from memory here and may not have the numbers dead right. It was a busy three days! The boiler was 82,000 lbs. The booster was 20,000 lbs. The tender trucks were 12,000 lbs each. Don't recall the pony truck but it was the lightest of the three. I believe the tender was 79,000 lbs. The loco chassis was about 120,000 lbs.
The boiler was heavier than anticipated. It's trailer incurred two flat tires on it's trip to Ellsworth. The chassis hauling rig had a total of 10 axles. They were prepared for more chassis weight than realized. No problems with the haul and it had a State Police escort.

from ten generations of truckers..one specialized in oversized loads...better to have more truck and trailer than you need than not enough, and have to pay for the truck twice.

Thanks for the replies guys !!!!!!

I'm not a 10th generation trucker, but I have spent the last 37 yr's in the front seat of a truck. I find things like this very Informative and educational !! In 37 yrs the only thing I have not done with a truck is pull a pneumatic tanker.. I have tried it all.

Thanks again guys !!!!!
