Well, since it was my post, I define "analog" as the physical world and "digital" as a sort of computer generated simulacrum of a part of it - a poor representation at best in my experience. this may be because a very good representation is impossible to achieve, or it may be because nobody has done it yet that I've experienced. The best representation of the real world done in the physical world I've experienced yet was in Cleveland, at the history museum, when I was in the machine tool hall alone and stepped through a door onto a riverfront street at night in about 1870. It was impressive - and probably because I had no modern interruptions like kids with cel phones cluttering up the illusion. No illusion created electronically has ever affected me as much, no matter how well done. "Riding" in the stationary Pullman sleeper in Sacramento is also very effective.
