Dick Yager as we knew him passed away August 25 apparently of a burst aorta.

Richard was a large fellow, he helped with the original nkp 765 restoration, and worked with the early 4449 and perhaps other steam operations. He ran the Sycamore Hollow Hobbyshop in Ft Wayne which I frequented. Later he moved to Oregon and worked the Oregon Rail supply of Signals n Stuff n more you know how it goes. I have some of those signals on my layout.

He was quite the character of a persona hard to miss.

he would post up on the NKP yahoo forum occassionaly, people on it sure are remembering him there. I'll keep the eye out for more info.

Yeah, I haven't been able to find an obit yet, likely because it was very unexpected. It would be Richard Paul Yager of Scappoose, Oregon. Hopefully find something in the next day or two.

I remember one moment at the 765 restoration someone at the Casad depot needed some rail work done, offered like 100 bucks to him to do it...heck yeh I'll be over, and went slinging
a spike hammer around whatever work was needed.

Tony Koester was at the NMRA convention and met up with Dick's widow who set up a booth there.
