Like Jim said above - the Strasburg has little other choice, but I was curious given such a choice, is one more preferable then the other?

Tender First. It's almost "historically accurate" for a shoreline railroad. Besides, all the engines are equipped with couplers in the front. Someone sure intended for engines to run backwards with trains back in the day. ;)
