I'd keep an open mind....after all, as another thread mentions, England had BLUE PETER.

Privately owned logging Mike Saginaw Timber No.2 (sister to Rayonier No. 70) at Mid-Continent Railway Museum should be in steam some time this summer.

Looking forward to seeing #425 back out this year, maybe I can make it back north for a fall foliage excursion. I hope you get lots of ridership and Andy gets excited about steam enough to spend some money on #2102 instead of airplanes. :)

Im doubtful but I am hopping NKP 587 can come back into service this year! It would be nice to get two mainline mikes back into service, providing that 4501 also comes back online this year.

Lots of high dollar work its being done to the 425 right now. Andy announced at the company Christmas party that the 02 will be restored when the 425 is done. I haven't said anything up untill now because I have my thoughts it won't happen. Time will tell. We hope to have the 425 on the road in July.

With a few more donor's bucks, the Monson 3 could be finally running at the Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes in Phillips.

Les,
I think they still have the same half mile that existed 15 or 20 years ago. I seem to recall an uncooperative landowner to the north, and a river requiring a long covered bridge to the south. However, going south would reconnect the museum to the historic depot and a car shop building. Another half mile would bring them to a second bridge which was a through truss. I saw vacant ROW from there to Strong, which was a junction and I believe a wye. Wish a good portion could all be rebuilt, but funds and popularity have been low. I am glad the WW&F is doing well, however. The SR&RL apparently needs a major influx of cash if they are going to survive the bills accruing from this engine project!

I dug out my Linwood Moody book on the Maine Two-Footers and found the photo of the covered bridge. Sure would be neat if it could be replicated. I also checked the groups website. I can see their financial problems with the restoration of Monson #3, but I don't see any reference to their being a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit. Do you know if they are?

The Texas State Railroad will have TSR 400 (Tremont & Gulf 30 or Magma Arizona 7) running in a few months (hopefully April).

What IS the status of NP1364? The website has not been updated in a couple of years, so the real time line for this loco is unknown. I know that there are only a small number of people active in Toppenish and that progress has been slow.

Has anyone visited Toppenish recently and can give us an update?
