Being as it's only a cosmetic restoration, we didn't perform an ultrasound scan and don't plan on it. Judging from the rest of the locomotive though, I'd say it's rather tired.

There was a visual done and there is severe pitting in the bottom and up the side of the boiler. If it was decided to fix this old gal, we could be looking at half the boiler needing to be cut out!
