Please forgive the watermark and imperfections, as I'm trying out a new piece of software. One is AT&SF 3759, in Kingman, Arizona. The other is U.P. 4004, in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Our paths may have crossed. I photographed Santa Fe 3759 in Kingman last week. Did you get a shot of the wood AT&SF wood caboose down the street?

I looked around the steel caboose behind the Northern, but didn't see a wooden caboose. What's interesting, is the enormous number of cabooses one sees scattered around the region, from New Mexico to California. You find them at schools, in the desert, abandoned, in backyards, museums, etc.
I shot the 3579 yesterday, Les, so I doubt our paths crossed. It would be fun to meet a fellow RYPN poster in the field.

Hi Dick,
What program are you using? I have had great results with a free program called Autostitch. There is almost no work to it. Nice pics. The top one might have benifited from taking a series of pictures perpendicular to the loco rather than standing in one spot and moving the camera from left to right and taking a series of pictures. It avoids that hump in the middle look.

Photoshop has done this since at least CS3. Use photomerge tools. Search Youtube "stitching photos" for video on how to do it.

I do many stitched images professionally and settled on PTGui (Panorama Tools Graphic User Interface is where the name comes from). It has, at least to my mind, the best abilities and options of any stitching software. Among other things, a choice of many different projections (a stitched image is a portion of a spherical surface projected onto a flat one) and different projections can make a huge difference in the appearance of the finished stitch. Photoshop's stitching is very limited and not overly intuitive.

The wooden caboose is located on the west side of the local history museum (Mohave Museum of History and Arts) one block west of the locomotive -- from the locomotive you'd see the large parking lot on the east side of the museum. Now don't confuse this museum with the Highway 66 Museum directly across from the locomotive.

Trivia -- the local personality honored in Kingman by a room in the History Museum and by a major street named for him is the actor Andy Devine.
