Does anyone know of anyone qualified to appraise a small narrow gauge steam engine to support IRS documentation for a donation? CSRM used Stan Garner from Short Line Enterprises in the past, but he has retired...

Are you looking for an appraiser to tell you what they think you could sell it for $, or what it's going to cost you to keep it $$$$?

I am trying to put together a list of qualified appraisers, for another group... which must remain nameless for now.

They have been contacted by someone who has a locomotive, and is considering donating it to them.

We are aware of the IRS rules related to donations... the receiving group cannot value the donation, nor may it pay for the appraisal... but we wish to give them a list of appraisers, and can support the appraiser's work with historic research.

The discussions are confidential, so, no details on what locomotive is involved...
