Guys,

We are into the interior restoration of our N6b. The PRR company paint instructions say to use P.O. Green paint up to the belt line and buff from there up to and including the ceiling.

What is P.O. Green? Is it a dark green? Is it post office green? Pullman green?

I asked the PRR guys in a group on yahoo, but they got off on a tangent about mailbox colors.

Thanks
Bill

They got off on a tangent on MAILBOX colors? Wow, that's saddening. I'm no expert, but I think that the color you're looking for would be a whitish-green color. But I'm not positive, so could someone confirm or deny?

It depends what group you asked. There are/were at least three PRR-based Yahoo-Groups; if you count groups devoted to specific regions or lines (mostly in modern-day railfanning), you're up to well over a dozen. About half of these groups are modeling specialists, and the two groups moderated by PRRT&HS officials have an almost militant divide between prototype and modeling--woe befalls the person that asks a modeling question in the PRR-FAX group.

The so-called PRR-FAX group has probably the most prototypical knowledge, and I don't recall seeing your query posted there. If you ask, I'm willing to repost this query there.

(Yes, these PRRT&HS guys are so persnickety that they actually have a Paint Committee. http://kc.pennsyrr.com/model/paint.php )
