Is your museum/group/operation on Facebook?

Yeah... that's the trouble. You're either chasing them into a dozen social medium or dragging them onto one. But which one?

Just think, nine years ago you would have been dragging them all onto LiveJournal, and six years ago you would have been dragging them all onto Friendster.

Yes, we are on Facebook. We have less that 100 "Friends" registered. Administration-wise it takes zero effort as it is being run by a member off site. So far, it's just a way to go to get visitors to find us on the Internet and generate enough interest to visit the museum. It does address a segment of the market that isn't otherwise addressed. We treat it as a marketing tool and will use it as long as it works.

Based on visitors comments, we are seeing benefits of being on Facebook.
As a docent, it is handy to be able to say to our visitors that they can keep up with the museum on our website and Facebook.
