Reproduction Brass Tags

Does anyone know of a company that can reproduce brass tags?

This original EMC control stand ID plate is well worn and I would like to replace it.

Yes he is in South Africa, but I've not found anyone else who would redraw the tag and make a new one for you for thirty bucks!

The guy in South Africa looks like he does nice work but I would rather keep my money in the good ol US of A.

I wonder if these trophy and engraving shops would be able to make new dials for steam gauges, such as this one:

Scott - this is metal etching and by doing an internet search you will find several companies that can do this in a variety of material. You will need to provide the artwork done in a vector drawing program such as Adobe Illustrator.
Several years ago I had a company in eastern PA etch replica EMD builders plate out of SS just like the real ones. See photo.

I was able to make a reproduction badge for the scarifer cylinder on my steam roller by the following procedure. I obtained a photograph and a rubbing of an existing although damaged badge. A friend skilled in Photoshop was able to create new artwork from the photograph and rubbing of the old badge. Lots of company's who do chemical milling were able to do a shallow etch in a brass plate but Lancaster Metal Science in Lancaster, PA was able to do a deep etch in brass, similar to the badges that were soldered to old fashioned copper fire extinguishers.

Scott - please consider these guys they do good work, but moreso castings. Need to ask Dennis the owner about ID plates.

Thanks for all your great suggestions.

I should have posted the results sooner. I used Kelly’s suggestion and went to the local trophy shop, Crown Trophy, Flemington. After a couple of adjustments the plate came out pretty darn close and they saved the file so additional copies are as simple as sending an e-mail.

I am also looking for an original EMC builders plate to make reproductions. So some of the other business are worth hanging on to once I find one.
