Saw this on railpictures - it seems the number of WM units being put back in good shape is growing. They say the target is Sept 2009, pretty ambitious, I wonder if it will be running or cosmetic?

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.

Operating.......... they (supposedly) need the motive power.

It doesn't hurt that they're friends of/with the Western Md. RR Historical Society in Union Bridge, from what I understand, as well as the chaps at Elkins/Belington. This is just the "Wild Mary" version of Bennett Levin's PRR E8's, if you ask me..........

No, not supposedly.

I'm not a member of the Society. They have two prices for everything; member and non-member. I pay the higher price for good, accurate information, which over the years amounts to over $1,000.

Someone is feeding you bogus information.

Not a chance.

Mr. Levin deserves better than having his immaculate locomotives compared to a couple tired old geeps.

I don't recall anybody doing that.

Ouch. Those E8s were pretty tired looking when NS and CSX got rid of them, as well. I'm always glad to see more general every-day power preserved. Esp. GPs and SDs.
