Unloading of the boiler at Historic Machinery Services shop this past Thursday.
After performing a boiler survey we will continue with the repairs we began in Alamosa during the Spring of 2008. The scope of work so far is replacement of side sheets, the lower protions of the outside firebox and door sheet, a new rear tube sheet, and a new mudring. Also, lower portion of the smokebox may be replaced.

Was this engine in service this season? Is this a major rebuild?

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.
