Those are some rare pictures - I had no idea 565 ever operated on the Chester branch.

Who was Horst Mueller? He seemed to have his hands in the ownership of several steam engines in the 1980s.

Hi, new to the forum, and am looking for some info on 565. I thought I read a few weeks ago somewhere on the net that it was under a restore at the moment, is this true? My father-in-law is Tony Citro's son, and we are thinking of taking a ride out to see 565 with my son (Tony Citro's great grandson).

Is there someone "on-site" in PA that can give us a few minutes to share some thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Silverarrow! I'm the organizer of the restoration of 565 volunteer crew. If you do a search here with my author name you will find my reports on her. We have found about 90% of the parts and sandblasting is under way of the parts we need to move her. Does Tony's son have any good pics of 565? We could use them so we can start figuring where all the parts go! Thanks again.

Great news, glad to hear it. PM me with your number or email when you get a chance. I am in Wayne, and will give you the 411 on Al (Tony's son) and our visit. Thanks Steve.

This was sent to me through a email.
Len.

Gentlemen,

Sorry about taking so long to get back to you guys. I’m in the Air Force and I’m deploying to Iraq in July so training has been crazy. I will be gone for one year. I want to get together with everyone to show where we are with 565 and also to get someone to take over while I’m gone. We have found a ton of parts and we need to start putting the front truck together. And get the brakes working before we can move her. I would like to go up on a Sunday either the 14th or 21 of June. Plus we can start on the cab with metal work and wood work. Let me know what day is best for everyone. I hope we can keep this project moving so the critics can stuff in their ears J. What do you think?

Hi all,
This is and Email from Steve Boone, for all who wants to join us at Steamtown to help restore 565.

Len.

"Gentlemen, how about we get together on the 14th of June. The 21st is Father’s day and I think our wives and kids would kill us if we worked that day. We can meet in the parking lot at 9:30?

Steve."
