"As part of an ongoing effort to responsibly manage its collection and align resources with its long-term preservation goals, the Twin Forks Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society has undertaken a review of its equipment roster, including our Boston & Maine passenger coach. Built in 1935, it is one of 3 remaining American Flyer coaches in existence. Twin Forks has determined that the coach no longer fits within the scope of its active restoration priorities and available resources. In keeping with a commitment to thoughtful stewardship, the car will be formally deaccessioned and made available to qualified preservation groups capable of ensuring its continued care and interpretation. Should the car not be picked up by another preservation group, plans for alternatives will be made, plans the Twin Forks NRHS does not want to pursue. Please spread the word about this sale, we believe this coach is capable of being restored, with the proper resources, funding, and facilities that our Chapter does not have.
