This was removed from the Wabash 1399 coach when it was upgraded with at Stadco and AC. It's the original ice bunkers, still relatively sound. Not sure if anybody needs one of these for restoration purposes, location is Titusville, PA, seems a waste to just scrap it out. See photo of car and visible bunker here: https://hawkinsrails.net/preservation/octr/octr1399.jpg I'm just posting this for them, OK to contact the railroad directly - executivedirector@octrr.org |

Back in the early 1970's the 1399 was owned by the Lakeshore Chapter, NRHS. It was used on fan trips, one was a joint Midwest Chapter /Lakeshore Chapter GTW 4070 trip on the Bessemer. I remember putting about 500 pounds of ice blocks in that car, and it was one of the few cars that had air conditioning that was actually cool! Maybe that box could be used to replace rusted out battery box on another car. |

Well, I rode in it yesterday, and the Stadco and the new AC system worked admirably as advertised, I don't think we are going back! This is an ACF car, by the way, from what we can tell. |
