Post subject:  Looking for first generation EMD locomotive bell

The Netherlands Transport Museum [“Nederlands Transport Museum”] or NTM acquired 6 cars of the repatriated 1960s Dutch/Swiss Trans Europ Express (TEE) trainsets which were sold to the Ontario Northland Railway (ONR) in Canada in the 1970s and operated on ONR until 1992. The cars have been moved to the NTM museum grounds outside of Amsterdam where cosmetic work has been taking place. The plan is to restore one of the cab cars into the appearance it had when in service in Canada in ONR service. I have attached a picture of the results of their efforts on this car.

An item the NTM is missing is a North American Style locomotive bell that was added on a bracket to the tops of the cab cars and power cars by ONR. Based on the attached photos from the days of the service of the trains it appears to be an air actuated steel diesel locomotive bell.

Does anyone on the list have any insights on 1) the type of bell; and 2) where I might get one to send to NTM? This could be a sale or trade with an individual or a museum.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Further notes - some time ago the helpful HRA parts list managed by Rod Fishburn provided supplemental info. "It looks like an EMD bell possibly salvaged from an older GP7, GP 9, SD 7, or SD 9. Likely with a Viloco Bell Ringer."

There is one on eBay for $1600.00. (Vintage EMD Brass Locomotive Railroad Train Bell) Highway robbery if you ask me, but it is what you want. It would be easy to bend a steel bracket for mounting it. These bronze/brass diesel bells go for more than the cast steel ones but they're pretty common. You should be able to find one for less.
