RPCX 3664 (Amtrak No. 1255) and RPCX 3662 (Amtrak No. 1257) have been deemed surplus and are for sale. These cars were originally acquired from Amtrak in 2019 and shipped on their own wheels from Beach Grove, Indiana to Wabash, Indiana, where they have remained in storage.

The cars are available as-is, where-is, and are located at an industry siding served by Norfolk Southern. They are mechanically and electrically complete with wheelsets in good condition. They can be shipped by rail, pending an inspection and COTS work. The buyer is responsible for all inspections, prep work, shipping, logistics, and the removal of the baggage cars.

These cars were built in 1955 by American Car and Foundry Company for the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad and later used by Amtrak. The Fort Wayne Railroad has converted two similar cars into an open-air baggage car and a head-end power car and has retained another for future use.

Inspections must be requested in advance. Requests and purchase offers can be made by email. Packages offers are preferred, but cars can be sold individually. To make an offer or view photos, click here: https://fortwaynerailroad.org/2023/06/surplus-amtrak-baggage-cars-for-sale/
