Post subject:  Wanted: Union Switch & Signal Model 15 Vane Relay

WANTED: Hello everyone, I’m Robert. I’ve always been into trains. I used to be a laborer for BNSF. Lately I’ve been getting into my local history with the Pacific Electric Railway in SoCal. Looking forward to being a fellow member to you all. I’m looking to buy a Union Switch & Signal Model 15 Vane Relay. One that has 110v local and a very low track/circuit voltage, around .75v and 60 or 50 cycles. I’m located in Southern California. Willing to ship. Zip 91745.

I want to set up a small track signal circuit at home. Only about 8 feet worth. I’m going off of the system used locally by the Pacific Electric Railway Red Cars. They used the model 15 on their signals.

Did you check with the Orange Empire museum? They acquired a lot of surplus signal stuff and are nearby. Perhaps they have an extra relay that they don't need and would be willing to sell it to you. Practically anything will work in your limited application. It's not like you are trying to achieve a specific shunting value on a long track circuit, nor would you care about single rail vs double rail circuits since it is just a single, microscopic block.

I did contact them. They don’t have any to spare, but that’s understandable. I know I don’t need the same track voltage relay, but I would love it have it.
