Position: Executive Director Job description The National Capital Trolley Museum seeks and experienced Executive Director to oversee all operations, functions and activities for an established Trolley Museum. You will be the face of the organization, responsible for giving the proper strategic direction and implementing a high quality vision. An excellent executive director is an influential manager with ability to lead and motivate. You have great communication skills and take a holistic approach in managing the organization’s operations. The goal is to manage and lead the organization towards the realization of its mission and goals. Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have the enthusiasm, creativity, and initiative needed to grow the museum and the talent to effectively collaborate both internally and externally. Non-profit experience is a plus. Education and Experience: • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Museum Sciences or related field is preferred. • Experience in dealing effectively with the public • Demonstrated organizational and management skills • Knowledge and application experience of the Past Perfect program and utilization of generally accepted museum bookkeeping and documentation procedures • 3 to 5 or more years in management or supervisory experience • Non-profit management experience in an operational environment preferred but not required. • Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred but not required to be considered • A background check is required as a condition of final selection for employment.
