Anyone know if Chevron Journaltex HD 57 is the same as the old Texaco Journaltex 1697 HDS? The GE spec 39078 for center bearing lubrication calls for the GE Spec D50E14B oil and then specifically mentions Texaco Journaltex 1567 HDS or equivalent. I know Texaco became Chevron, so I'm wondering if this is the same stuff. I can't find any other reference to a different Chevron Journaltex other than the HD 57. Or does anyone have a different recommendation? Thanks! Tom Mack Cincinnati, OH |

I can't say how they compare but I'd recommend Journalgard from interlube. Based in Cincinnati no less... |

I use journalguard from interlube. You can get it in smaller 5 gal pail too. |
