Still available: Overland Trail, 1949 club lounge, beautiful car is in nearly as built condition with 39 seats (24 at tables) . Pacific Trail, 1950 44 seat chair. Functional car currently with 40 seats and gently converted former men's room into kitchen. Our plans are to convert chair section into table car. Combined with lounge car, 64 seats at tables. Looking for shortline/tourist railroad for new home ... will consider all offers. Initially, we would like to get 300/day for each car with an 8 day/month minimum. Deb and I will be at the RPCA convention in Cincinnati ... look for "Conductor Bill" if you would like to discuss the cars. |

This really makes me sad. It is a direct result of Amtrak's stupid decision to ban most of the private rail cars. Bill was running LA Rail trips up and down the West Coast until Amtrak's fateful decision. I also believe why the California Zephyr cars are now in Ohio instead of running up and down the West Coast. We really enjoyed those trips and it is sad to see them end. |
