You might try contacting the group in Pemberton, N. J. They have a complete PRR cabincar frame and trucks like those pictured in your post. I believe it was a wooden N6b that got torched. Al Holleuffer |

Scott - This is a little off the subject, and I apologize for that. The photo you furnished shows a Pennsy cabin car (caboose) friction bearing truck with a large coil spring. Later, from the photos I have been able to find, PRR apparently went to friction bearing trucks with leaf springs, replacing the coil spring. When did this change occur? Was it before the Second World War? Right after the war? Or still later? I hope you are successful in finding the PRR caboose truck with the 3-3/4" X 7" journals, and other parts, that you are looking for. Les |

It was disassembled, by me, from a rotted hulk. The chassis was sent out and sandblasted and primed. We painted it black in preparation to rebuild the car. Later! Mr. Ed |

No need to beat your head against the wall between yourself and an unwilling seller (or buyer as the case may be). There are a number of PRR junker cabeese around, or some that might be considered junk once the paint job fades and bad things happen to it. O. The CR 23117 in Struthers, OH has roller bearing trucks. It also has those wacky triangular side bearing castings which have about 50 weld repairs to them. |
