What became of proposed plans to operate passenger excursions on part of the Camas Prairie RR? Part of this line has been proposed for abandonment by its current shortline operator. Seems like a pretty scenic line to be thrown away to recoup a pittance in scrap, with some high wooden trestles, etc.. Is there any active resistance to this proposal? See the link below for a recent motorcar cavalcade over one of the trestles.
ryarger1@nycap.rr.com |

Railfan & Railroad have had some special articles the last few months about the CSP. Currently a dinner train runs over the line (not sure if it is the Grangeville line?).
The line would be a great tourist line, but there would be a large amount of money needed yearly to maintain the many wooden trestles on the line.
|
