Post subject: | Fire at D&H Colonie Shops |
Another fire broke out yesterday at the former D&H Colonie shops north of Alabny. The complex has been unused for 20 years and has a multiple fires in that time. Yesterday's fire greatly damaged, probably mortally, the biggest building, the former 4-story erecting shop. It may be demolished within the next week or two. Property was never owned by CPR, still owned by Guilford Transporation Industries. The NRHS Mohawk & Hudson Chapter used to stored various pieces of rolling stock inside until being evicted. A full enviornmental study has never been conducted on the site but I'm sure it ain't pretty. News Story With Video joshua@joshuakblay.com |
