<P>what type of luck have others had in securing non-transportation related federal money for restoring an old rural passenger station used on the weekends for the Museum operation? All the local transportation $$$ is sucked up by the trolley. Are there other sources of federal $$$ available?<p>Thanks.<br> lundquist@sdrm.org |

<P>There is more in the way of programming for building preservation than for equipment preservation grants. I suggest you approach the local historic society or whatever group is actively working on building preservation in your area, prepared to tell them why the building is important, and ask for their assistance in preserving a valuable part of the local ARCHITECTURAL heritage. A lot of this funding is based on some sort of "landmark" status and designation which can come from those organizations.<p>Dave<br> lathro19@idt.net |
