<P>The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, Inc. is holding a Benefit Auction on Saturday, August 19, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. at the Society's Shop and Museum site on Edgerton Road, three miles east of New Haven, Indiana, near the East Jefferson Park.<p>Nothing is being sold from our permanent collection, just surplus and unneeded items. Most of the collectibles are being donated as fund raisers for this Benefit Auction. More goodies are needed, preferably railroad related.<p>Locomotive 765 is in the beginning stages of a massive $400,000 overhaul. This Benefit Auction is being held to help raise our 20% matching share of this grant.<p>The items being auctioned include railroad collectibles such as lanterns, locomotive and passenger car builders plates, timetables, magazines and misc. paper items. Other items will be auctioned, such as usable railroad related parts, tools and equipment, passenger car interior items, track tools and car movers, a diesel locomotive cab seat and steam heat fittings.<p>The third category of items are tools, equipment and supplies of a general nature that are usable outside of the railroad world. This includes generators, electric chainfalls, an old pepsi machine, electric cable, conduit and fittings and misc. automotive and truck items.<p>Mark Frey of Frey and Sons Auctioneers in Archbold, Ohio (Indiana Auctioneer's License No. AU19900078) is donating his auctioneer services for this Benefit Auction.
