When the Edaville RR closed in 1993, alot of steam engines left the site. The Mexican engine #12 went to Montana where it is runnng today. The Monson Lumber Co geared engine was bought by the RR Museum of Pennsylvania. Does anyone know where the two 42" gauge engines formally owned by the Plymouth Cordage Company ended up?<br> ted_miles@NPS.gov |

Ted,<p>I am not sure about the locomotives you are asking about. Edaville had a 42 inch gauge (Vulcan?) 0-4-0T that I believe had come from a coal mine. They also had two 30 inch gauge Porter 0-4-0T's from Anaconda Copper in NJ.<p>The geared locomotive you mentioned that went to the RR Museum of Pa is standard gauge 2-truck Climax #4 from the Mason (not Monson) Lumber Company.<p>Two other ex-Edaville display steam locomotives (both 36 inch gauge) that have found new homes include ex-Godchaux Sugar 2-6-0 #6 now displayed in Fennimore, WI (for a current photo go to www.steamlocomotive.com/misc/images/wi0026.jpg) and ex-Argent Lumber 2-8-0 #4 now displayed at the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association at Kent, CT.<p>Regards,<br>Jim Robinson <p><br> jrobinson@dataram.com |

The Illinios Railrway Museum recently acquired a pair of B&M wooden food service cars. (One was a diner, the other was some type of cafe) Could these be the two that you mentioned?<p>Paul K<br> paulkattner@hotmail.com |

Not clear on what happened to these cars. i belive the cars at edville were not B&M originally and may have been Lacawana Booton cars. last time i saw these they were very deterirated. a also believe these were Steel cars and you could pass your hand thru the car side in places. The cars IRM recieved have been in storage at East Deerfield MA. since they bought them in the early 90's. i had inspected them around that time and they were not sutable for movement on there own wheels and i expect they arived at IRM on TTx flats.<p>Al P.<br> alp@cheshire.net |

Indeed they were ex Lackawanna, the combine was #60, and was recently sold to the Black Dog tavern and made into a lounge on Martha's Vineyard. I suppose the trucks are still at the Bay Colony's old storage facility on the mainland. The coach (I don't know the number) is supposedly in rough shape and can be found at a scrap yard near Newport or Sunapee NH. There was a business car at Edaville, I believe named "California" and to that state, I know not where, it returned.<p>My question regarding beautiful B&M wood coaches, does anyone know the fate of cars 1058, 1158, 1269, and 1286?
