Your standard excursion railroad usually operates three or four cars at speeds at or under 25 mph. This works great for a relatively simple low horsepower locomotives such as an old switcher, but low horsepower locomotives are becoming more and more scarce, and the locomotives coming to the market now are usually above 2,000HP and with more horsepower comes more fuel demand whether you need it or not. |
