Take a look at Flimsies today. Something’s wrong.

Definitely something wrong there. I noticed it a couple days ago.

Here is a screenshot of the current Flimsies page.

The hyperlinks all direct to opticsfast.com and return this warning:

I posted something there just to see if it would work, hopefully I didn't pick up any malware. Flimsies doesn't require a log-in with a password so it doesn't need to be hacked. It looks like hundreds of pages of those posts were made, but Flimsies self-deletes messages after a few months so eventually they will all go away.

To me, the filmsies site seems to be coded especially for RYPN, as there is no hint for any named software on it. So a successful hacking attempt would be totally improbable because there will be no info on the web about how to hack it.

I suspect that it's using some sort of off the shelf program, it would be a lot of work to build your own.

However, I agree it's not a hack. It's simply been spammed by a bot, happens to every online forum sooner or late. Fixing it is simple, just delete the spam.

Good luck with that. I've been offering to take over the place for years.
