Here's an article from last year. The historic equipment in Cheyenne may be in danger. One city council member is quoted about one of the former spearheads of the project: Quote: “The guy was just utterly fearless, was reckless with people’s lives and defrauded the federal government,” Laybourn said of Rimmasch. https://www.wyomingnews.com/news/local_news/some-council-members-oppose-15th-street-railcar-experience-claiming-it-came-from-a-crook/article_ec49ff55-1a56-41e8-bbdb-96162a6e14c3.html |

This post is not in any way timely, and serves no purpose except to cast a specific individual in a bad light. Doesn't matter if he may or may not deserve it. |

The contract was awarded last July to Vintage Rail Restorations and whilst several council members were against the project and used various means to discredit it it was ultimately awarded to my company. We are on target despite vicious winds this year for a late June delivery to 15th street west of the depot. The two SP cars 7077 and 7078 will be displayed in Pullman Green with their original running numbers, the caboose FTSX 812 will be displayed in Kenifick Green as a MOW caboose as it was for many years. |

I was looking at the recent announcement of NRHS preservation grants https://railfan.com/nrhs-awards-187000- ... on-grants/ and saw this one: "Colorado Model Railroad Museum, Greeley, CO: $5,000 towards restoration of Rock Island Railroad caboose 17017". So now I know what happened to the Rock Island caboose saved from Cheyenne. Two photos, Mike Pannell.
