Hi All
I saw this on another website Train orders,, the group that has control of ex AT&SF 2926 might have to relocate because the property in which the locomotive has been on since its beginning to return to operation,, its lease on the property has expired as of 12/31/2025...
Hopefully some kind of extension can be worked out,, according to the post on Train orders,, the lumber company would like to expand,, right up to the fence,, of the current property,, ..
The group is trying to get and move the locomotive,,to the old Santa Fe shops facilities in Albuquerque, NM,, but the city has not agreed on the move as of this post...
Maybe someone from the 2926 group can explain what is going on, I am just passing this along,, I am NOT a member of this group.... but I do hope something can be worked out...

Because it needs to be said, yet again, here is the link to the article by Jim Wrinn about rules of rail preservation:
https://www.trains.com/trn/railroads/heritage-rail/preservation/indiana-transportation-museum-and-10-rules-for-railway-preservation/

And quoted:
Quote:
1. Control your house. If you don’t own your own site, station, tracks, etc., you’re in danger.

The 2926 has been kicked out of the old Santa Fe mechanical shops owned by the City of Albuquerque, once before, when someone connected with the city got the typical greedy eyes for development of some sort of real estate venture. Not sure why the 2926 group wants to go back, unless they might get to own or control the shops site. The problem of politics, developers, and city ownership of museum facilities has happened elsewhere. Sacramento comes to mind, with mixed results.

FYI, the end of year update in question is clearly available at the very top of the 2926's website:

When did they acquire the two diesels?
Did they purchase 522A from the Lorain & West Virginia Railway?
