I have had enough of trying to manage a phpBB system. (The one I had on steamlocomotive.info). Can anyone recommend good forum software with decent management features? I doesn't have to be freeware, I actually have a pretty decent budget for this. |

Xenforo. I used Vbulletin for years, but they went to crap. I run several Xenforo forums. I’ve also repeatedly offered to take this one over. |

I'll take a look at that software momentarily. As for RyPN I'm not even a moderator anymore (my choice). I wish them well, and I still occassionally get good information from RyPN so I'm still here. Kinda. Regards, Doug |

If the forum software needs to change, and it appears that is true, then I am not against it if it proves to be stable. I hope to see it go to a forum such as that used by WW&F or Chaski's Home Machinist (The same system?). These have been working for a long time and show promise. Critical in the transition is preserving whatever remains of messages on this forum. Its an archive that is rare and incomparable. O. |
