Orrville Railroad Heritage Society's Alco RSD1 #805, ex-USATC #8050, successfully ran for the first time in 33 years. The mechanical crew has been working on it as time permitted all summer culminating in a successful startup on September 25 and running under power on October 15. It still needs bits of work here and there to tie up some loose ends, a set of batteries and a paint job. The goal is to use it in regular service.
