Hi
This morning while up on facebook marketplace,, there was a new listing, for ex Wolfboro/Edaville 2-6-2 is up for sale,,. The listing was put up by the Grafton & Upton RR,, the engine is now located in Grafton, Mass at the G&U yard..

Also next to the post with the locomotive there is also a B&M caboose for sale,,

Maybe some tourist line that is looking for a Steam locomotive will have some interest,, I am just passing this along..

I am Not and employee of the G&U RR,,, just a railfan... Pat.

As a WK&S guy, I had always kind of hoped it would make it back, but also realized it needed a lot of work and it's better to spend money on what is already onsite. After seeing this post I immediately went looking for the post on the engine out of curiosity. Looks like they are asking $150k. I wonder what they paid Edaville for it.

I think that is former Bonhomie and Hattiesburg Southern 250. I remember seeing a classic "panned" shot of it on the B&HS in Trains years ago. A neat little locomotive. Wish I had the money to buy and restore it!

Nice machine. For the right pike, she'd make a fine addition as she has drivers that are 52" or thereabouts plus a healthy tractive effort figure.

IIRC, this this partly account of her 26" stroke instead of the much more common 24" stroke found on a great many surviving smaller engines.

Well, thanks for the correction. I was sure off on that one as I assumed that she and 2-8-2 300 were pretty much identical. Not so, I just now learned.

Your help is much appreciated.

I remember it from the Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern Days. Rode behind it in the 1960's. Might actually have some 8mm to video footage of it someplace.

Does anyone know if boiler drawings exist for 250? Or info from baldwin about sheet thickness?

Hi
You could try the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania at Strasburg, Pa,, they have some of the Baldwin Locomotive records..
Or you can try a search with your search engine Baldwin Locomotive records,, maybe more will come up... good luck. .
