Post subject:  Chestnut Ridge Mack Railbus Sold to Phillipsburg NJ Museum

From Facebook post and website of the Phillipsburg (NJ) Railroad Historians:

Quote:
We have another huge announcement from the September 27th open house!
As you all know, we have been housing the Chestnut Ridge Mack Railbus for the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society since 2002. Over the years we worked with the group to continue restoration of the Railbus cosmetically and operationally. Nowadays, the Railbus runs under its own power again as we bring it out for display most open houses.
Seeing as how we had the Railbus on property for so long and how many people come to see this rare and unique piece, we began negotiations with the chapter to purchase the Railbus. Those negotiations were successful, which means we’re happy to announce that we are now the proud owners of the Railbus!
So much work, man hours, and dedication was put into this piece. But there’s always more work to do…..
Thank you to both the LV Chapter and PRRH members who were able to work together on finalizing this deal!

The car in question had been acquired from the Chestnut Ridge RR, a local short line, not only as a piece of local shortline history but because it was one of the few survivors of railroad production by the noted Mack truck company in Allentown, Pa., the Lehigh Valley Chapter's home turf.
