An old engineer was called for that final train. When he arrived at his destination he reported to the crew caller's office to sign out. While he was talking to the clerk, a fellow named Peter who he had never met before, he noticed another person standing in the door to the next office. This fellow was was wearing a green eye shade, a white shirt with a black vest and neck tie and old-fashioned black sleeve protectors. The fellow was talking on what seemed to be a wireless candlestick phone. "Who's that?" the engineer asked. "Oh, that's just God. He likes to think he's really the Chief Dispatcher," Peter replied. "By the way he wants a word with you about how fast you got here."
